Killing time

Henry David Thoreau: “As if you could kill time without injuring eternity…”

On the most boring day of my life

(so far), I mass murdered minutes,

willing the grass to grow.

Drying paint with my sighs

might have been more interesting.

Inaction injuring my eternity.

I should’ve been writing.

Or mothering.

Or something.

Father, forgive me for the good

I didn’t do today.
