Ballad of Samhain

This night, we feast! Reward our toils,

saving place for the dead.

Lest they curse and rage our neglect

Barred He’en, prayers unsaid.

Traverse the bone fires, purify

Renew bonds amidst the flames

Ere the darkness gains hold

When Daghda weds on Samhain.

This night, we feast! Rest and succor,

remembering our dead.

Lest they weep, toil eternal

barred He’en, prayers unsaid.

Between the bone fires, purify!

Prepare for winter’s kiss.

As the dark half begins anew,

let the fires roar and hiss.

This night, ere cold and scarcity

renew bonds amidst the flame

For the dark half begins anew,

when Daghda weds on Samhain.
